Moving a Review File (Create Lists)
The Copy feature in Create Lists allows the copying of an existing review file to an empty review file. When using Create Lists to run a query or search, you would select an empty review file that allows for enough records for your expected results to be stored. If after running the Create Lists query or search, you discover that the review file is much too large for your results, you can use the Copy feature to move those records to a smaller review file. Another reason to use the Copy feature is when a system-generated file needs to be moved to a review file.
Copying Review File Records to a Smaller Review File
Choose Create Lists from the Function list.
Here is an example of a review file that has a smaller number of Current Records than the Max Records. We are going to move this file to a smaller review file.
Choose an empty review file with a smaller number of max records. For this example, we are going to use a 500 Max Records review file.
Click on the review file to highlight. Click the Copy button from the toolbar.
This will bring up the Select file to copy from box. Search for the file you want to copy.
You can scroll through all review files, or you can type the number of the review file into the box. When the correct review file is highlighted, click the OK button.
The new file has the same owner as the file you copied. The new file also has the name of the copied file.
Don’t forget to empty the original file!
