Syndetics
Pika connects to Syndetics for content enrichments to enhance the user experience in the catalog. The ISBN or ISSN in the MARC 020 is used to fetch enrichments for most holdings. Films and video games often have a UPC code in the MARC 024 that is used in lieu of an ISBN 020.
Pika does not use information in the 020$z or the 024$z for cancelled or invalid ISBNs or UPCs to fetch enrichments.
Cover art
Cover art that displays at the grouped work level is fetched from Syndetics. Pika typically uses the cover art from the book version at the grouped work level. At the individual bib level, Pika will fetch the cover art from Syndetics using the ISBN or UPC code for the individual bib.
Descriptions
Descriptions that display in search results are populated from the MARC 520 in the bib records, while descriptions in the full record views will come from Syndetics, if the library has enabled the Prefer Syndetics description option.

NoveList
Pika will query NoveList using the NoveList Primary ISBN derived from the ISBNs that make up the grouped work. NoveList provides useful readers' advisory enrichments.
Marmot maintains a NoveList contract for MLN1 and MLN2 libraries unique to NoveList subscriptions that member libraries might maintain for their patrons. Marmot’s NoveList contract is used solely to populate NoveList enrichments in Pika for MLN1 and MLN2.
Discovery partner libraries may or may not maintain a NoveList contract for their libraries. If there is no NoveList contract to reference for a global site, NoveList enrichments will not display in the Pika interface.
Series information
Series information from NoveList is preferred over series information in the MARC record for series carousels, series statements, and series searching. If NoveList does not have series information for a given title, Pika will fall back on other available series data in the MARC record.

Wikipedia Content
When a user searches for an author by clicking on their name link in search results view or full record view, they will be directed to the author page in the catalog.
If there is a Wikipedia entry for that author and the Show Wikipedia Content setting is enabled in the library system settings in Pika, the Wikipedia entry for the author will display above the author page results.
Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader information from Renaissance Learning populates three facets and will optionally display in search results, full record view, and the More Details section in full record view. Pika connects directly with the Accelerated Reader database to fetch data based on ISBN – this entails that Pika’s Accelerated Reader information is current and follows the standards directly from the vendor.

Lexile
Lexile codes and measure information from Lexile populates two facets and will optionally display in search results, full record view, and the More Details section in full record view. Pika connects directly with the Lexile database to fetch data based on ISBN – this entails that Pika’s Lexile information is current and follows the standards directly from the vendor.
On occasion, Pika will use series data from Lexile to populate series statements in the event there is no formal series statement from NoveList.
