Record Suppression

This document describes how suppression of various records works.

Bibliographic Records

Bib records are suppressed with the SPEC’L USE fixed field. These codes will cause suppression of the entire bib record:

u ILL
m MCP SUPRESSED
v ON THE FLY
w SUPPRESSION
2 BUD SUPPRESSED
x DELETE CODE

Suppression will prevent the record from being seen in Pika and Classic Catalog. All of those codes will also keep records out of Prospector. Records can be displayed locally and kept out of Prospector with this code:

p Prospector NON-Contrib

Item Records

Item records are suppressed with the ICODE2 field. These codes will cause suppression of the item record:

x WITHDRAWN
a Delete Reed Not Last
q Delete Reed Last Copy
y Delete Delaney Last Copy
z Delete Delaney Not Last
n SUPPRESSION

Suppression will prevent the item record from being seen in Pika and Classic Catalog. Other items will appear. All of those codes will also keep item records out of Prospector. Item records can be displayed locally and kept out of Prospector with this code:

p Prospector NON-Contrib

Order Records

Order records are suppressed with the CODE4 field. This code will suppress order records:

n SUPPRESSION

Checkin Records

Checkin Records are suppressed with the SCODE4 field. This code will suppress checkin records:

n SUPPRESSION

Course Records

Course Records are suppressed with the CCODE1 field. This code will suppress course records:

s SUPPRESSED

Authority Records

Authority Records are suppressed with the ASUPPRESS field. This code will suppress authority records:
