Branch Addresses Table - (Admin>Parameters>Circulation -Sierra)
This documentation explains the functionality and data elements of the Branch Addresses table.
Branch Addresses Table Overview
You can contact the Marmot Help Desk for help if you cannot view this table.
The Branch Addresses table contains the name and address of each of the library's branches. The system uses this information to print return addresses on circulation notices and to determine the from and reply-to addresses of emailed circulation notices.
Functionality Information
When viewing the Branch Addresses table, note the following:
Maximum Number of Entries
The Branch Addresses table can contain a maximum of 400 entries.
Selecting and Positioning Entries on Circulation Notices
See Notices, Slips, and Messages and Sending Circulation Notices via Email for information about how the system selects an entry to apply to each notice type and how the entry is positioned on the notice.
Data Elements
Entries in the Branch Addresses table contain the following data elements that Marmot staff will enter on your behalf.
Tip: double click on the Branch Name for your library to see the Address, E-mail Source and E-mail Reply-To information.
Element | Description |

Branch Name | Sierra uses this element as the display name in the header of the from and reply-to addresses for emailed notices. |
Address | This is the branch address as it prints on circulation notices. The address can contain up to four lines of text, each with a maximum of 59 characters. |
E-mail Source | The email address from which the circulation notice was sent. Sierra takes this value from the Email From element of the entry in the Branch Addresses table that corresponds to the return address printed on the notice. Since Sierra uses an email relay system there are some additional steps to setup spf records. SPF records help ensure that the emails sent through Sierra are not blocked. These are usually set up by your email account administrator. |
E-mail Reply-To | The reply-to address in the header of an emailed overdue notice. If set, this element has the same content and character limits as the Email Source element. The email address to which the patron's reply should be directed. The system takes this value from the Email Reply-To element of the entry in the Branch Addresses table that corresponds to the return address printed on the notice.
