Implementation: what went well?

  • Stakeholder participation and buy-in

  • No notable details were missed

  • People in working groups were already familiar with each other

  • Specifying/making explicit the administrative tasks that were “hidden” in previous implementations

  • Swiftly addressing misinformation

  • Marmot Board and FLC Board unanimous support

  • Good fit impacted the ease of the transition

Implementation: what barriers or issues did we encounter?

  • the rumor mill

  • separation inherent in the setup adds complexity for Marmot staff

What can we do differently in the next implementation?

  • evaluating new implementations for migration into MLN1 or MLN2. what factors do we consider?

  • how do we work with libraries that might want to be on Elevation Carriers?

Project management: what went well?

  • Structure, organization, pre-planning

  • Good communication with stakeholders

  • Use and enhancement of existing implementation plan template

    • Adding administrative details

  • Good planning will act as a useful template for other implementation projects

Project management: what barriers or issues did we encounter?

  • epics/tasks/project management. in Jira are still pretty unfamiliar for some of us – often forgot about closing out tasks

    • staff doing significant work for some epics weren’t included in Jira project

  • displaying the roadmap for anonymous users wasn’t easily possible

Project management: what can we do differently in the next project?

  • continue to look for public roadmap display options

  • don’t use stories in conjunction with epics. preferred approach is probably using epics/tasks rather than stories/sub-tasks.

  • making sure all staff that has involvement where appropriate and in the same product
