Pika server migration

The Flatirons server is being migrated away from a box running CentOS to a new server running Ubuntu. This migration will take place on Nov 7, 2022.

• Anticipating some downtime later in the evening of the 7th.

• Switching to offline mode while SSL certs are reapplied, around 8pm.

Domain recommendations

• Moving production from LIBRARY.flatironslibrary.org to LIBRARY.marmot.org

  • ex: broomfield.flatironslibrary.org → broomfield.marmot.org

  • if you want something different let us know

• Test domains will change to match existing Marmot structure

  • ex: broomfield2.marmot.org

• Expecting to do this around the first of the year, in conjunction with new theming. Brandon will determine a cut over date. Redirects will be set up for the old domains.

Questions

• Elevations contract: amounts per library? Signed contract?

• What is the future of the Flatirons website? Do we need to help update, migrate, or decommission?

• What is the future of the Flatirons Google account? Do we need to take over management of that? Will that be decommissioned? If so, we will need to migrate the content to a Marmot shared drive.

• For the purchase of bins, does each library have a direct relationship with Global Industrial? Or will you need Marmot to handle bin purchases for you?

• Scheduling per library townhalls: 3:30-5pm
