Peripheral troubleshooting

Mouse

  • If the wired mouse isn’t being responsive:

    • Plug the mouse into a different port

    • Try a different mouse

  • If the wireless mouse isn’t being responsive:

    • Make sure the switch is in the “On” position

    • Make sure the dongle is plugged in

    • If mouse is bluetooth, reattempt to pair it with the computer, according to manufacturer instructions

    • Replace the batteries

Keyboard

  • If the wired keyboard isn’t being responsive:

    • Plug the keyboard into a different port

    • Try a different keyboard

  • If the wireless keyboard isn’t being responsive:

    • Make sure the switch is in the “On” position

    • Make sure the dongle is plugged in

    • If keyboard is bluetooth, reattempt to pair it with the computer, according to manufacturer instructions

    • Replace the batteries

Camera

  • Check to make sure the camera is securely plugged into a port

  • Make sure the camera lens is not covered

  • Check Settings > Privacy > Camera

    • The camera should be On

    • Apps should be On

    • Desktop Apps should be On

    • Make sure the specific camera is selected, both on the computer, and in the software being used

Microphone

  • Check Settings > Privacy > Camera

    • The microphone should be On

    • Apps should be On

    • Desktop Apps should be On

    • Make sure the specific microphone is selected, both on the computer, and in the software being used

  • Make sure the microphone is not muted

Speakers/Headset
