Laptop Charging Issues

If your laptop is not charging or not holding a charge, the first step is to reboot.

Not Holding a Charge

• This could be due to a bad battery

  • Swollen battery

    • Is the keyboard warped?

  • Aged - you may get a message that your battery is nearing end of life

• Drivers may need to be updated

Not Charging or Charging Slowly

There are multiple reasons for a battery to not be charging:

• Bad battery

• Bad port/ motherboard

• Damaged power brick or cord

• Dock not passing through enough power

  • It is advisable to use the laptop charger whenever possible, rather than the dock to charge the battery.
