Installation on a Macintosh Computer (Sierra)

Installation on an M1+ Marmot IT supported Mac
·     Click the Self Service icon in your dock or in your Applications folder
·     Click on the button labeled ‘Sierra’
·     Click Install
·     When it says done, you’re all set
·     You should now also see a Sierra Desktop App icon in the dock
Installation on an M1+ Macintosh Computer
This must be done in the User’s profile
·     Press + spacebar to bring up Spotlight and type terminal, hit enter
·     In the terminal type softwareupdate --install-rosetta
·     Press A to accept the SLA
·     Leave terminal up, we will come back to this
·     In a browser, go to https://sierra.marmot.org:63100/web/installers/
·     Scroll to MacOSX Apple silicon (SFX) and click Download
·     If asked, click allow to allow downloads from http://sierra.marmot.org
·     Back in the terminal window, type cd ~/Downloads/ and hit enter
·     Type sh sfx_sierra_macosx_apple_silicon.sh and hit enter
·     This will open the Sierra installer
·     At the Introduction window, hit Next
·     At the Choose Install Folder window, hit Next
·     At the Choose Alias Folder windows, choose where you want a shortcut (In this example, we are using Desktop), then click Next
·     At the Pre-installation window, click Install
·     At this point, Sierra will install
·     At the final window, Install Complete, click Done
·     Close the terminal window

Installation on an Intel Macintosh Computer
This must be done in the User’s profile
·     In a browser, go to https://sierra.marmot.org:63100/web/installers/
·     Scroll to MacOSX Intel (SFX) and click Download
·     If asked, click allow to allow downloads from http://sierra.marmot.org
·     Press + space to bring up Spotlight and type terminal, hit enter
·     In the terminal window, type cd ~/Downloads/ and hit enter
·     Type sh sfx_sierra_macosx_intel.sh and hit enter
·     This will open the Sierra installer
·     At the Introduction window, hit Next
