Should we have separate cataloging policy groups?

All

  • People like the idea of having a single cataloging group once we have things sorted out. Probably in January have a single meeting.

  • We can try a single meeting and if we need separate meetings we can do that.

  • First joint meeting is Jan 25th 9:00 - 11:00

Name of two clusters

All

  • We bat around some name options, but no conclusions

  • People seem okay with MLN1 and MLN2

Authority Control

All

  • MLN1 uses Marcive authority service.

  • Lloyd sends the records to Marcive and loads the changes from them.

  • MLN2 has stopped their contract with Marcive.

  • They only ever used it twice.

  • Up to date as of July 2022.

  • We are not sure the current status with Marcive.

  • They have been using the 907 field with the .b number as an indicator that the record has been to Marcive previously.

Link Maintenance

  • Used to be done by Broomfield, but that person has left.

Headings Reports

  • Not used at all.

 Action items

@Lloyd Chittenden Contact Marcive to figure out how to restart authority control for MLN2.

 Decisions

  1. Biweekly meetings.
  2. Try single cataloging group for both MLN1 and MLN2. First meeting January 25.
