The STATUS field stores the item’s status. The system updates the value of this field to one of the standard codes as a result of system activity (for example, checking in an item, marking it lost, and so on). Marmot determines the name and purpose of this field, its codes, and the codes' definitions. They are commonly used as a statistical category field.
