55

HLODUES (Highest Overdues)

The highest level of overdue notice (1 = first overdue, 2 = second overdue, etc.) among all overdue notices recently sent to the patron. The Highest Level Odue element specifies the maximum number of notices a patron can receive before the patron is blocked.  This field is for system use and is not a real-time indicator of a patron's overdue levels. The number increases when a patron receives an overdue notice, but it does not decrease when overdue items are returned. Instead, when a patron attempts to perform a transaction (such as checking out an item or placing a hold), the system checks the value of this field against the # OVERDUE field in each item checked out to the patron. If the value in the HLODUES field does not match the highest value in the # OVERDUE field, the system resets the HLODUES field.

56

MBLOCK
