Searching
Important options here
Restrict search by library : usually ignored.
Typically used by schools and universities
Public lists to include
Lists by library list publishers is usually the best option to keep patrons’ lists more private
Search box
Systems to repeat in : can set for other library systems if applicable
Repeat search options can be ignored
Search Results
Brief record view in search results
Too much can clutter view, can make local decisions about what is desired
Search Facets
Superscope : for all libraries in system / consortium
Local Collection : Name for overarching library system (top button)
Available toggle : items available for immediate checkout (on shelf at library system)
Available Online : eContent resources. Might not always be ‘available’ for checkout, rather represents eContent resources for easier access
Include online materials in “available toggle” : recommend to turn off - skews results sometimes
Library System Facet Label : how the library name appears in left hand facets
Restrict owning branch : usually check on for all libraries. Most don’t use the branch facets, but it keeps things local
Include all records in shelving facets: not a good option for large branched libraries
Include all records in date added facets : not a good option for large branched objects
Facets
Must have format category and available. These should display above search results in most cases.
Combined results
Catalog Enrichment
Default toggles are usually best to leave on.
Marmot fetches enrichments from Syndetics - Marmot wide subscription handled by the Marmot office
Most libraries don’t use user reviews. Ratings are good to leave on.
Full Record Display
Similar to brief record view : can choose more options if desired.
Browse Categories
Browse categories at library system level will be effective for all branches that belong to that library.
Browse categories added to default library will populate at all library systems until those systems have unique browse categories set.

Show ‘It’s here’ usually works better with IP addresses, but will work at branch url levels, too
